Honor the Sisters
At the center of everything we do at PeaceHealth is our Mission brought forth by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.
For the past 59 years, our community has been blessed by the many Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace who have worked tirelessly to enhance healthcare, minister to the poor and underserved, guide children through education, and dedicate their lives for the betterment of our community. When J.D. Tennant and other leaders invited the Sisters to come in 1943 and reopen the failed Longview Memorial Hospital, it was Sister Flavia and Sister Bernard who first arrived and wrote how they “were favorably impressed by the beautiful city and the wonderful industries”. The Sisters’ stalwart dedication is visible across our fair city and it continues to thrive today.
If you’ve played in our PeaceHealth St. John Foundation Golf Classic before, you know that Hole #7 is a special place. Reserved to Honor the Sisters, we offer a champagne toast to the Sisters and ask our guests to consider making a special gift in their honor.
Together, we continue their mission as we carry on the healing mission of Jesus Christ by promoting personal and community health, relieving pain and suffering, and treating each person in a loving and caring way.
